Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday alleged that the BJP had hatched a conspiracy to defeat the JD(U) despite the alliance in the 2020 assembly elections. He reiterated once again that the anti-BJP parties can win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with a thumping majority if they agree to join hands with each other.

Nitish was addressing the open session of Janata Dal (United). He alleged that the BJP was the reason for his party’s unsatisfactory performance in the last assembly elections. Without naming former alliance partner BJP, Nitish said, they (BJP) should be reminded that whether it was in 2005 or 2010 assembly elections, never before had our party won less seats. We suffered in 2020 because they tried to defeat our candidates.

Became CM again on the request of BJP
Nitish also said that he was not keen on becoming the CM for another term, but agreed to take up the post on the insistence of the BJP. He said, Bihar did not get anything from the central government. He (PM Narendra Modi) belongs to a state which has been prosperous since the days of the British Raj. He said that the country cannot progress without the development of poor states.
